Things are going so great with Skeena. I love her so much, I could eat her head. Right now, she is in her pen chewing her denta-bone like a good, good girl. She's such a happy dog.
I had to get up to pee last night at about 5:45am so I figured she probably had to pee, too. She doesn't whine in her crate at night anymore, even when I get up and walk around doing stuff. But when I get down to let her out, she whole body wiggles and she launches herself into my lap. I took her out to the deck and she peed in the right place (yay!) and then we came back in and snuggled for about 15 minutes. It was heaven. She was so happy and loving-- the picture of contentedness. Then she happily went back into her crate so we could get some more sleep.
Yesterday was my day off so I took her to pottery class. she doesn't have all her shots yet, so I have to be careful about where I let her roam, which means carrying her most of the time that we are out-- also, that way she won't pee. That morning, I was thinking about how hard it is to hold her securely and get anything else done, so I grabbed one of those one-shoulder backpacks and put her in it. She LOVED it in there. My little marsupial.
We went to pottery class and she met all the yoga ladies, who oohed and aahhed over her. Then she met Vin, my pottery teacher. I haven't been to class in 3 weeks so I didn't realize that the session was over so Vin was the only one there and he fell in love with her. She ran around sniffing for awhile, then eventually she fell asleep in her crate while I worked. She slept the entire rest of the afternoon while I got groceries and ran some errands.
She's amazing. She's just the sweetest, smartest little thing and I am such a proud mommy.
